Therapeutic exercise involves movement to correct impairments, restore muscular and skeletal functions and maintain a state of well-being. This consists of strength training which uses your body weight or equipment to build muscle mass, strength and endurance. This also includes mobility exercises that increase the range of movements and motions your body can perform.
Jordan is certified in superficial and deep dry needling techniques for the entire body, including treatment for headaches, neck pain and back pain. Arthritis, carpal tunnel and tennis elbow are a few common conditions that can benefit from dry needling therapy.
Our Doctor of Physical Therapy practices techniques using high velocity and low amplitude thrust manipulation. This method has been proven to help reduce pain and increase range of motion by eliciting the release of restriction.
Jordan is certified in the Graston technique which is the leading soft tissue therapy worldwide. Graston is an evidence-based form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) that detects and treats fascial restrictions as well as muscle and tendon disfunction. Common conditions treated with IASTM include ankle pain, neck pain, hamstring injuries, hip pain, IT band, golfers’ elbow, back pain and knee pain. Silicone cupping can also be used to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being and as a type of deep tissue massage.
This training method uses a pneumatic tourniquet system to apply brief external pressure resulting in partial restriction of blood flow. BFR enhances muscular strength and hypertrophy using metabolic stimuli verses mechanical tension. This allows you to exercise using less weight and still achieve significant gains in muscle size and strength. BFR is useful to recovering patients that cannot tolerate the effort or fatigue of moderate to high exercise intensities.
